Terms of Service

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be at least 13 years old to create an account

You may not transfer your account to another person without our written permission.

ScholarSail offers a free base plan and optional paid modules:

• Free Plan: 10 decks max, 100 cards per deck, 3 prebuilt palaces, 3 mappings
• Unlimited Decks ($5/month): Unlimited decks and memory palace mappings
• Custom Palaces ($5/month): Create custom 3D memory palaces
• AI Study Suite ($10/month): Mindmap, study guide, flashcard generators + 100 AI credits
• AI Credits ($5/month): 100 additional AI credits

Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Price Changes: We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

General Policy: ScholarSail operates on a no-refund policy for subscription fees. All sales are final.

Why No Refunds: We offer a generous free tier (10 decks, 10 mindmaps, 100 cards per deck) so you can fully test our platform before subscribing. Paid modules are priced affordably at $5-10/month and can be canceled anytime.

Exceptions

We may provide refunds at our sole discretion in the following cases:

• Billing errors: If you were charged incorrectly due to a system error
• Technical failures: If the service was completely unavailable for an extended period
• Duplicate charges: If you were accidentally charged multiple times
• Unauthorized charges: If your account was compromised and charges were made without your consent

Requesting a Refund

If you believe you qualify for an exception, contact support@scholarsail.com within 7 days of the charge with:

• Your account email address
• Transaction date and amount
• Detailed explanation of the issue

Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Decisions are final. Processing approved refunds may take 5-10 business days.

Cancellations

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

• You retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period
• No further charges will be made
• Your account reverts to the free plan automatically
• No partial refunds are provided for unused time

AI Credits

AI credits from the AI Study Suite subscription roll over monthly while your subscription is active. If you cancel, unused credits from that month are forfeited. One-time AI Credit purchases never expire and are non-refundable.

You retain ownership of content you create (flashcards, decks, study materials). By using ScholarSail, you grant us a license to:

• Store and display your content to provide our services
• Back up your data for reliability and recovery
• Use anonymized, aggregated data for analytics and improvements

You are responsible for your content and must have the right to use any materials you upload. We may remove content that violates these terms.

AS IS: ScholarSail is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or specific learning outcomes.

Educational Tool: ScholarSail is a study aid, not a replacement for traditional education. We are not responsible for academic performance or exam results.

Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScholarSail shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the past 12 months.
